First let's discuss terminology.

Knob-- Generally a knob will attach to the cabinet or drawer face with 1 screw.

Pull-- A pull will attach to the cabinet or drawer face with 2 screws.

Knob Vs Pull

CTC-- This is the Center To Center measurement. If you are replacing pulls this is a critical measurement. Measure from the center of one screw hole to the center of the other screw hole (not the space between the holes). This will be your CTC measurement.

Center To Center Measurment

Dual Mount-- Some pulls will indicate that they are Dual Mount. This means that they have two sets of screw holes on the bottom of the pull. These pulls can accommodate two different Center To Center measurements.

Finish-- Most knobs & pulls will have a plated finish over a base metal. The finish color will be listed in all product descriptions. ie. Satin Nickel, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Polished Brass & Chrome. If you are using a combination of knobs & pulls, it will be important that the finishes match. It is safest to choose knobs & pulls made by the same manufacturer as even popular finishes such as Oil Rubbed Bronze may differ from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Base Metal-- This is metal underneath the plated finish. Most knobs & pulls are made from die cast zinc, then plated with the colored finish & a coat of protective lacquer. Some knobs & pulls will be make of either stainless steel or solid brass as the base metal, which is then plated like the zinc pulls. Solid brass or stainless steel knobs & pulls will be clearly labeled.
